Venerdì 17 aprile dalle 16:30 alle 17:30 si terrà il secondo seminario dedicato alla presentazione degli avanzamenti e dei risultati dei Progetti Pilota del Progetto DARE. Oggetto del seminario sarà il progetto dal titolo Use large-scale cohort studies to identify lifetime, environmental and occupational determinants of healthy ageing. Il seminario sarà tenuto dal Dott. Ohad Zivan e dall dott.ssa Michelle Barbara Lee Hanson. Di seguito un breve abstract sui temi su cui verterà l’incontro: In the past decades, a decline in cancer mortality has been observed in developed countries, and yet, it is estimated that over half of all cancers in these countries can be prevented. This is in part due to longer lifespans, and changing risk factors. Yet, a non-negligible percentage of risk factors remain unknown. Incorporating big data techniques in health science is already being utilized in different aspects of cancer detection. In this study, we will combine Random Forest Classifier together with permutation feature importance analysis to identify novel less explored risk factors for a collection of cancer and cardiovascular outcomes.
